A full service restaurant, bar, and a café are set to open in The Valley Luxury Hotel, the 129-room luxury hotel set to open in Homewood this month.

This week, The Valley Hotel, a part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, and Valor Hospitality Partners announced the dining concepts and culinary team for its three on-site food and beverage options: upscale restaurant Ironwood Kitchen + Cocktails, The Terrace Bar, a bar featuring craft beer, cocktails, and a fireplace, and The Valley Coffee Co., its signature café offering coffee, gourmet sandwiches, salads, and freshly baked pastries.

Executive chef Doug Zuk will spearhead The Valley Hotel’s culinary program. Prior to the hotel, Zuk developed and ran culinary programs in Las Vegas with executive chef and chef de cuisine roles at Hank’s Fine Steaks at the Green Valley Ranch Resort Spa & Casino and Tom Colicchio’s Craftsteak at the MGM Grand Las Vegas.

The menu at Ironwood Kitchen + Cocktails is already well underway with dishes highlighting signature Alabama food and drinks including: Clyde Mays smoked short ribs with Yukon gold potato puree and crispy onion rings, grouper and grits with white cheddar grit cakes, Conecuh sausage, classic tartare and a soft poached egg, and smoked chocolate toffee cake.

General manager Luis Lozano will direct hospitality service at Ironwood Kitchen + Cocktails. Prior to joining The Valley Hotel, Lozano served as the Director of Food & Beverage at Hotel Colonnade in Coral Gables, Fla., where he oversaw all culinary operations and concepts.

The Valley Hotel will also offer custom catering menus and room service options.

Located at 2727 18th Street S. in Homewood, The Valley Hotel is set to open on Jan. 21. Second locations of Rodney Scott’s BBQ and Little Donkey will also open later this year near the hotel. In 2020, Pihakis Restaurant Group and Capstone Real Estate Investments announced plans to develop new locations of the restaurants along the block at 28th Avenue South and 18th Street South near the hotel. The restaurants will sit side-by-side and are scheduled to open in the spring or summer of 2021.
